I work at the interface of geomicrobiology and organic geochemistry. I use techniques including microscopy, microbial culturing, lipid extraction and analysis, and stable isotope geochemistry with H, C, N and S to study microbial ecology, microbial transformation of organic molecules and the molecular and isotopic imprints microbes leave behind in the geologic record.
